Main difference is there's many more amstaff mixes and cross breeds. I mean AM Staff's are technically pit bulls. However, AKC bred AM Staff's have had their stud book closed for something like 60 years, and IMO this has caused some differences between AM STAFF's and American Pit Bull Terrier's.
